Second-Seeded Edinboro Overpowers Drexel, 37-6, in Quarterfinal Match at Virginia Duals

Charlottesville, Va. - Second-seeded Edinboro topped Drexel, 37-6, in the quarterfinals of the 2007 Virginia Duals. The Dragons will face North Dakota State in consolation bracket on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10:00 a.m. North Dakota State lost to top-seeded Penn State in the first round, but defeted Duquesne to advance in the consolation bracket.
Drexel sophomore Steve Mytych opened the match with a tight 2-1 decision over Eric Morrill to stake the Dragons to an early 3-0 lead. The win ran the reigning CAA Rookie of Year's season record to 17-3. Edinboro stormed back to take the next seven matches to clinch its spot in the semifinals. Jon Oplinger got Drexel's only other win, an 11-5 decision over Pat Bradshaw that improved Oplinger's record to 15-6 on the season.
